It takes strength to be firm,

It takes courage to be gentle.

It takes strength to stand guard,

It takes courage to let down your guard.

It takes strength to conquer,

rocksIf you could feel more empowered in your daily life, would you want that? Who wouldn’t? The truth is, just by changing the way you think you can create positive change for yourself and attract the things you want in life.

The study of Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP), is all about using the language of the mind to consistently achieve our specific and desired outcomes. Broken down, neuro refers to the nervous system (the mind) through which our experience is processed via the five senses (visual, auditory, kinesthetic (feeling), olfactory (smell) and gustatory (taste). Linguistic addresses the language and other non-verbal communication systems (such as pictures, sounds, feelings and self-talk) through which we make sense of the world. In other words, how we use our words to speak or influence our experience. And, programming looks at how we code or mentally represent experience. Our personal programming consists of our internal processes and strategies i.e. thinking patterns we use to make decisions, solve problems, learn, evaluate, and get results.

Having majored in English and Psychology in university I always (secretly) wanted to write my own book but was too scared to do so. I had many more questions than answers and so, as with most dreams, the idea sat there for many years, untouched. Until last year when a friend of mine put me in touch with a publisher and I had the opportunity to be a contributing author to a book about coaching. How perfect! The opportunity to tell my story, write about something I was very passionate about and fulfill one of my dreams. How could I say no!
